I have registered several acer laptops here before. mostly aspire series. has something with driver downloads that it is no longer possible to download drivers from Acer site, that only new laptops and accessories are available but drivers are no longer provided?

You have two options; continue with the drivers/BIOS versions you have or change to a Linux OS. Downloading from 3rd party driver sites is not recommended as these may brick your laptop.

I used to think of Acer as a wonderful computer option. I recently purchased a new Aspire 3 15.6. What a disappointment and aggrevation. Two days of my time plus a few hours of "expert" help. It started with problems loading files and data. This was exacerbated by a touchpad that didn't work. This was exacerbated by drivers that were not available. And finally, by an Acer website with the only intent on proclaiming all the new features.

On paper, this was the ideal laptop for me…fast, plenty of storage, excellent screen resolution, and pre-loaded with the key software that I use. This was not my first Acer computer but it is likely my last. I returned this headache today.
