Im running an acer predator 17, a G5-793. like others i thought the intel rst raid array would make my storage faster, but as ive read from other posts, because it grouped a 1tb hdd with a 230 or whatever ssd, it seriously bogged down my pc. ive tried resetting it with the hdd removed, wont let me. i cant do control s it doesnt open any new menus, ive bought the acer made “mentor media”, ive watched every video and article, ive talked to intel and acer tech support, i dont know what i can do. I want whatever i can get though. im willing to retry everything as long as it works idc. so please someone help me.

Hi, first back up your entire boot drive to an external backup drive and boot to BIOS with F2, look for the SATA mode setting. Press Ctrl+S, It might be under “Advanced” or “Info”. Change the SATA mode from RAID to AHCI. If the option is greyed out, you might need to use the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (iRST) tool in Windows to delete the RAID array first: Boot to Windows and open the Intel Rapid Storage Technology application. Locate your RAID volume (e.g., Volume_0000 or OEMRAID0). Delete the RAID volume. Note that this will erase all data on the RAID array. Physically install your new SSD (if applicable) and boot from the Windows recovery media you created earlier and restore your backed-up data or a clean install of Windows.

Hey, im in bios right now but no where here does it say sata menu, but ill read everything for you rn. also control s does nothing unfortunately. theres five tabs saying information, main, security, boot, and exit. information shows both drives are connected, and shows sata mode raid, but nothing is clickable.

Main showa system date and time, network boot, f12 boot, post animation and sound, wake up on lan, touchpad, lid open resume, d2d recovery, gpt partition recovery, clear gtp is grayed, and gtp record saying no record.

Next is security, and honestly ill probably send photos instead cause this takes too long

i have this from acer, i dont care about losing my data i want a factory pc i can restart with.

i now see in info it says sata mode yes, but it looks unchangeable. its not grey its black
