External video card on ACER Z3770. All programs use Intel HD graphics, not the Nvidia graphics card

Hi! inside the ACER Z3770 there is a full Nvidia 605 graphics card. But there is no cable to connect to its video outputs. All programs use Intel HD graphics, not the Nvidia graphics card...

How is this supposed to work? In YouTube videos, people also don't have any cables to the graphics card. Maybe need's a special driver to use the Nvidia graphics card only through the PCI-Ex port (if it is possible at all)?

Hmm, I though they all came with either a GT 520, GT 530 or GT 405. The GPU is handled the same as they are in laptops, with the GPU output being routed back to the display through the chipset, not using an external port.

If I understand you correctly, you need to choose the right driver? Because the latest available driver from Nvidia cannot do what you say. It is installed but the video card remains inactive.

Unfortunately, since those models shipped with Windows 7, Acer has removed all support files from their sites. Which OS are you running, and what is shown under Display Adapters in Device Manager?

I'm using Windows 10, both video cards are displayed in the device manager. In older versions of the drivers, there is an option to select the GPU, but if I select Nvidia, a message appears that the video card is not connected to the monitor...

Apparently this only works on old drivers from Win7.

The following steps can be used to set the Nvidia video card as the default video option.

    1. Open the Nvidia Control Panel.
    2. Click 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings
    3. Click the Program Settings tab.
    4. On the Global Settings tab, locate and select the Preferred Graphics Processor option.
    5. Click Apply.
