Hello.

I have an old tablet that used windows 8. Which operating system would you recommend now? As I understand it, it is not safe to use windows 8 because there are no updates. Of course, I successfully installed windows 11, but some of the drivers were not found in the device manager, and I could not find them on the website. I'm actually thinking of installing android, but I don't know how it will be with the processor for desktop OS. In general, I don't have a goal to use it as a full-fledged computer, just a tablet for watching movies, touch games and other things. I'm waiting for your thoughts, thank you.

The text was formed with the help of a translator, perhaps part of the thought is distorted.

You might also look at the various Linux flavors, they typically have a smaller footprint than Windows does, so run better on the old machines.

The Iconia Tab W700 tablet is not designed for Win-11 OS as its got a weak Intel Core i3 (2nd Gen) 2375M / 1.5 GHz cpu / Intel HD Graphics 3000 / 4GB RAM, the next OS up from Win-8 is Win-10 which is still being supported and is your only option and your Iconia will operate Win-10 OS perfectly. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. Windows 11 did not slow down and worked fine. I used third-party "virus" software to install all the drivers (one driver even only from the 8th version). In general, now there are no unknown devices in the manager. The on-screen keyboard finally opens itself on a generally ordinary tablet, as it was with the 8th. The only thing is that there is no 5-touch app (I don't remember the name, I didn't use it). The battery is completely dead and the color rendering of the display is disrupted. After replacing the spare parts, I will use it fully and then we will see how suitable the 11th version is and whether it is worth switching to other options.
