Acer Aspire 7 715-79g-taking a long time to wake up from sleep, 15 to 45 seconds to wake up.

I encountered an issue with my newly purchased Acer Aspire 7 (model 715-79G) laptop. When the lid is closed or when the laptop automatically enters sleep mode, it should wake up almost instantly—within a second—after opening the lid or pressing a key. However, it actually takes at least 15 seconds, even if multiple keys are pressed. In my experience, most laptops turn the screen on within a second under these conditions.

I contacted Acer support, and they performed all the troubleshooting tasks through remote access. One representative advised me to reset the power button, but they didn’t acknowledge that this model does not have a power reset pinhole. Ultimately, they concluded that it is normal for laptops to take 15 to 45 seconds to wake up.

The problem has still not been solved! I suspect that Acer compromised some hardware components in this model to reduce costs.

Hi, your laptop does have a pinhole to reset the battery (see picture), stick a pin in that hole till you feel a click and hold the pin down for 10 seconds.

This laptop may not support Sleep mode but reverts to hibernate which takes longer to wake than from sleep mode.

So, It does not support sleep mode and goes into hibernation when the lid is closed, right?

I have checked again but the battery reset hole is not there

Please verify the model number again. The customer representative also informed me that this laptop does not have a power reset pinhole.

Acer should clarify that the laptop with model number A715-79g does not support normal sleep mode and instead defaults to hibernation. This design choice results in a longer wake-up time, which has been a common complaint among buyers of this model. I have been comparing this model with my friend's older Acer 7 - A715-76G laptop, which has a wake-up time of only 1-2 seconds, making it significantly faster. Addressing this issue could alleviate the frustrations of many customers.

Disable screen auto-turning off from power settings (not sleep), restart and your sleep problem will be solved

This is not resolving the problem but rather an alternative way where one can switch off the sleep mode completely
