When attaching or removing the base for a VESA wall mount, it's advisable to place the display face down on a soft cloth to avoid damage. First, fully open the hinge cover. Then, use a screwdriver to remove the six screws securing the hinge and take off the hinge. Finally, remove the hinge cover. If you're installing the monitor with a wall mounting kit, it's recommended to use a VESA mounting kit (100mm x 100mm) with M4 x 10mm screws.

appreciate the effort but im not sure you actually read the post you're responding to :)

there's no issue with the hinge, the vesa holes are plugged lol

Gently pry off the plugs using a small flathead screwdriver or a similar tool. Be careful not to apply too much pressure to avoid damage.

appreciate the followup. unfortunately, i've since decided to just go for it and the smallest flat bit in my precision screwdriver kit (1mm) is still way too big to fit and the pressure required is chipping the paint pretty badly, they feel glued in or something. pretty sure they arent coming out without a drill or some extremely specific tool the average person's not gonna have access to. no idea what they were thinking with this design :(

Yeah, they aren't really good at documenting that. It looks like the VESA holes are under the stand. Is that where you are looking with those images?

yes. the plugged holes are behind the stand, you can see the open hinges in the op image. i have no issue removing the hinge (although it does require a fairly specific precision driver bit, which most consumers would not have immediate access to. super dodgy design choice imo)

I don't have a good enough image available to me to see what the other side of that looks like, so I can't say for sure if they are just pressed in plugs or actually cast…

Upon further investigation by one of my colleagues, only the ASV15-1BP supports VESA mounting. The ASV15-1B does not. 😯

I wonder if they even have the screw mounts under the plastic… In which case you might be able to drill the holes out and use them anyway. Can you say "warranty voided"? :)

i did end up returning this particular unit due to it having a defective camera, but its good to finally get an actual answer lol. will say its a pretty disappointing answer seeing as the acer store says otherwise:

regardless of the incorrect listing it's suuuper strange to remove the vesa mount from the non-pro model when they're obviously using the same body. guess i shouldnt expect much given how weird and inconsistent everything related to spatiallabs seems to be though :/
