I'm new here.

My repair guy says I need a new motherboard. It powers up the fan, HD, CD/DVD drive, USB ports, no HD activity lights, no signal to the monitor which remains dark. It won't turn off no matter how long I hold the power button down, I have to remove the power cord to stop. No beeps. I've checked all the power supply voltages good at the 24 pin connector.

So, the real question is. What MB/CPU will work here and where can I find one?

Hi, the main board comes with an Intel Celeron G1620T/G1630 processor that supports up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM. You can get the original new graphics card here: VG.PCU63.001 Acer VGA Board Gt630 2GB Uefi Atx DVI HDMI but a new main board will be very difficult to find. Thank you for the prompt answer. I have no graphic card, nor do I need one. But, I have found a used MB on Ebay for $70, which seems to be in the ballpark price wise. I'm able to do the swap myself. It has no CPU or memory cards, which is OK. I'm wondering if there is any reason to stick with this model MB, or is this a good time to move up. I'm guessing that upgrading the MB is pointless unless I upgrade the CPU also. I use this computer for e-mail spreadsheets, word processing and UTube videos. Does upgrading make sense?

    Thanks again.

Your T3-600 uses a uATX motherboard, so you should be able to put any of the ones that are in that form factor, even the latest. Be aware that a new motherboard using the same old CPU and memory will be tough to find, just due to the age. A newer motherboard is going to require new CPU and new memory at the least. Your system has a 300W power supply, which will be enough to drive most of the newer motherboards, but likely not enough to do much of an upgrade to the video. Look for a MB/CPU combo package, you should be able to find one in the $100 range, then pick up 8GB or 16GB of memory to match the board you choose. That is likely to be less cost than a new system, but not by a lot… It looks like the low end Acer desktops start around $350 on Amazon.

Based on the above good advice, I've ordered a used original MB from Ebay. We'll see how it goes. The seller had excellent ratings.

I don't know what I did to break mine. I used to leave it on days at a time. I hope that wasn't it.
