Hi Acer/Community,

I've bought this model and I struggle to install Windows 11, it doesn't detect SSD and keeps asks for a missing driver.

I've downloaded Win11PRO 24H2 image from Microsoft and burned it on a USB drive.

I can boot and select first few screens then it starts to complain about missing a media driver.

I've downloaded a couple of drivers from product support page, namely chipset drivers, APP Base driver, DES driver, wireless driver and extracted them on a separate USB, which I plugged in when requested to browse for drivers but it doesn't find the missing one.

I've searched the Internet and most common solution was to go to command line and use diskpart to create the primary partition, which I did and I see it from command line but still note working.

Please let me know what is missing and how can I install Win11.

Thanks

To add more details on my own post, I've just tried to install Windows 10 PRO with same result, it is complaining about a missing media driver. I've tried the drivers for Windows 11 PRO (as there is no driver for other OS) and no success.

    This is very frustrating.

I've bought the laptop with FreeDOS not because I wanted but because it was the only possibility and now I cannot install/use my laptop.

And more details.. Checking around here I've found a nice post for a similar issue and it was an advice there to download the IRST driver.

I've downloaded the driver (18.7.6.1010.3) but the driver has .exe extension which was a nightmare as I'm using Linux. With luck, I've found a Windows laptop and I've extracted that exe according to a command found online:

    SetupRST.exe -extractdrivers SetupRST_extracted

Then I've copied the extracted folder on the USB stick that I was using for drivers, and when prompted about missing driver I've navigated in that extracted folder (it has some subfolders) but no driver was found, so another failed attempt.

    Anything else to try?

    Thanks
