I have an Acer Nitro 5 that I bought new in 2021. The hard drive has failed, and I am not able to recover any data. I have ordered a new hard drive and am needing the original Windows 11 product key for my Nitro. Can anyone help with this?

Hi, if your Nitro5 was bought with Windows10 or 11 preinstalled it will be an OEM version with the key saved on the motherboard not on the HDD/SSD boot drive. Just download the Windows 11 23H2 ISO file from UUPdump.net and after installing Microsoft will detect the key and activate the OS. If you bought a Windows Pro upgrade or a Windows license when the Nitro5 was bought without Windows (with Free DOS or Linux) you can recover the Windows product key from Microsoft Support with the e-mail address you used when you purchase the license.

If its a 2021 Nitro its the AN515-56 model or 55 model, first and for best recovery of an old M.2 SSD drive that has valuable data, always consult and get a professional Data Recovery Technician that can recover these old drives data in most cases at a recovery rate of over 90% and sometimes 99% rate. Do not try and recover the data yourself as on these new SSD drives you probably need to replace chips which you will not have

With Installing a new drive, you need to get a new M.2 SSD boot drive and construct a Win-11 24H2 built with Rufus 4.5 and follow their bootable USB guide and then make sure that you ,put your Nitro 5 IRST Intel drive onto that same USB, as when you will get to the Win-11 installation part @ Where do you want to install Windows?>Load driver > you need to install the IRST drive for your laptop at that stage for the Win-11 installation to continue, then finish the installation and make sure that you update Win-11 to the last OS build 26100.3037. good luck and hope this helps you out further.

This is a HDD drive on this particular model. It was bought in the early part of 21 so…it could actually be a 20 build model. Thanks for the info.

It's pretty much always best to give us the full model number when asking questions. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like AN5xx-xxx-xxxx. You will likely be much better off to replace the failed HDD with a new SSD, likely using an M.2 slot on the motherboard with an NVMe drive. That will be so much faster than the HDD was.
