hi! i recently got my hands on a refurbished ASV15-1BP, and I've been having several issues with the device and its software

spatial labs go and player were both completely non-functional when i first received the device. however, noticing that they worked with my laptop, which was on windows 11, i updated my machine from windows 10 to 11 and found that go & player both worked flawlessly! for exactly one day. the next day, with no changes made to the computer, both programs inexplicably stopped working again. when loaded and fed a sbs image, spatial labs player will show the orange light signifying eye tracking, but the device will not kick into 3d mode. example from a screenshot converted with iw3:

meanwhile, go will not show the orange light, and splits the screen into two images. however, I can tell that depth is being properly generated by overlapping the images with my eyes. example from a Fullscreen YouTube video below:

I've tried everything I can think of and every piece of advice I could find on this website and I have no idea what could have gone wrong here

true game, at first, seemed to work extremely well. however, during my first longer play session, I noticed that the eye tracking stopped functioning completely after about an hour. the image was still displaying properly in 3d, but only if I kept my head in exactly the same position. the eye tracking seemed to reactivate upon rebooting my computer but regularly shuts down again after an indeterminate amount of time. I suspect this is due to something I noticed when I tried to launch another app through the experience center: the USB connection seems to regularly fail. I have tried multiple cables in multiple ports that i have confirmed work fine with multiple other devices, but i still regularly receive the notification that the USB is disconnected. the usual culprit for this sort of thing, usb selective suspend, is already disabled. no idea what's going on there besides potentially just having a defective unit

lastly, it seems any time the display kicks into 3d mode, you lose access to several osd calibration settings, and often times my custom settings are overwritten? this is super disappointing for creative work, seeing as the default settings are nowhere near accurate (especially regarding black boost). not sure if that's just some weird tech limitation with the lenticular layer? but it sure doesn't feel like it should be

any help with any of these issues would be greatly appreciated, even if the advice is just to have the unit replaced by its warranty lol. I genuinely love this display when its working correctly, but it's been really temperamental so far and there is so, so little support available online for it

thanks!

The 2022 Acer Spatiallabs ASV15-1BP edition monitor is not a common item that we come across on this forum or for that matter the special edition Spatiallabs products that Acer make.

You would be best advised to either return this refurbished product to where you bought it from, as it could be faulty, or consult Acer in your country for specialist advice or maybe a community member could advise you further. I'm not familiar with the Spatiallabs software so I cant advise you any further.

Maybe the detailed SG below will asset you further as it seems that you have some sort of expertise in the Spatiallabs software, and if you find a solution then please repost how you solved this problem onto this forum. Good luck and hope you solve this problem out.

hey! that manual actually gave me exactly what i needed to diagnose the problem. spatiallabs experience center has hidden settings menus containing the eyetracking feed as well as some manual reset buttons (you can access this by clicking repeatedly on the "version" tab in the base settings menu). basically one of the cameras occasionally completely fails, losing eyetracking, seemingly at random. resetting the eyetracking through these menus has a 50/50 shot of temporarily fixing the problem, but it consistently happens again shortly thereafter. it is nice that i have a reset button when it acts up now, but i'll be seeking a replacement asap

additionally, this was an officially refurbished product purchased from acer themselves. total failure to address the problem that probably made the previous owner return the display in the first place lol, test your products better yall
