Acer Aspire A15-41M-R3DU RAM upgrade, should I match speed and latency and What's the max RAM?

im considering buying the Acer Aspire A15-41M-R3DU, but I noticed that the RAM configuration is 8GB onboard (soldered) + 8GB SO-DIMM, and they are DDR5.

Since the onboard RAM is permanently attached and the other slot uses a replaceable SO-DIMM module, what are my upgrade options?

My Concerns:

1. Mixing RAM modules “ If I want to upgrade, do I have to find a DDR5 SO-DIMM stick with the same speed and latency as the onboard RAM to avoid compatibility issues?

2. Max RAM capacity Does anyone know the maximum RAM this laptop supports? Can I replace the 8GB SO-DIMM with a 16GB or 32GB stick while keeping the onboard 8GB?

3. Performance issues If I upgrade to an unequal RAM configuration (e.g., 8GB onboard + 16GB SO-DIMM), will it disable dual-channel mode or cause instability?

Your Laptop support maximum 16GB ram using another 8GB compatible ram with onboard 8GB ram. Yes, you can't mix rams.

To achieve the best performance from your RAM upgrade make sure all specs are same, ensure that:

    1. Both RAM sticks are of equal size and same rank
    2. Both RAM sticks have the same voltage.
    3. Both RAM sticks have the same CAS latency (CL).
    4. Both RAM sticks are of equal speed (MHz) and are DDR5
    5. Make sure that you buy JEDEC profile ram. It means dont buy xmp ram or any overclock supported ram.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure a smoother and more efficient performance from your upgraded RAM.

I recommend check crucial rams as they are mostly compatible with oem rams.

    Check Current RAM Specs:

    1. Use CPU-Z to determine your current RAM specs by check SPD tab and Memory tab. CPU-Z provides detailed information about your RAM. If you have any doubts or need clarification, check the RAM model number in CPU-Z and search for it on Google to find exact specifications such as CAS latency (CL), voltage, frequency, and more.
