My 2016 Acer Monitor, Model No. V196WL has a blue hue, screen tint to it suddenly. I use it as my second screen when working remote, but I own the monitor. I tried restarting and shutting down. I reattached the VGA cable connectivity at both ends, leading from the laptop to the separate, secondary monitor. I had my work help desk remotely look at my work laptop and they discerned it is not anything caused by my hp work laptop, settings. They said to contact Acer support for additional info/help.

It is likely the night time blue screen mode in Windows, not the monitor itself.

This type of issue is generally caused by a cable that has been worn or bent, either on the monitor side or the computer side. Please check that both sides of the cable are firmly plugged in. If they are, please unplug it and check for any bent pins inside the cable.
When you see the blue tint on monitor, you'd better check if the cables are plugged properly and look out your threads or check the monitor settings in your computer. Then open the menu to find the color settings and reset it to the default values.

I unplugged the VGA cable connections, put air spray into both ends, I checked for any broken spokes within the VGA connections and there are none. Reconnected and screen is still blue hue

How long do cables typically last? Mine is about one year old only. I do have an adapter so I can plug into a VGA connection because newer, sleeker hp laptop only allows for very small connection in, i.e. I cannot plug in my VGA cable directly into the laptop itself. Could it be the VGA connector/adapter, whatever it is called, so I am able to use the VGA cable, that may be faulty?

This morning I was jimmying around with the VGA cable cord under my monitor, when I pushed up on the cord, the blue hue went away. I have a box underneath the VGA cable connected to the monitor pushing it up, but evenutally I will need a new VGA cable.
