My Predator Helios 300 (3 years old) is experiencing sudden CPU temperature spikes up to 97°C while plugged in, even with light tasks like running 4-5 Chrome tabs and File Explorer. The temperature drops back to 78-88°C but spikes frequently. This issue began after I took the laptop to an Acer official service center(one and only official service center in Bengaluru) for cleaning they charged me whopping ₹1800, where they recommended and supposedly replaced the thermal paste. However, the problem started right after their service. I took it to another Acer official service center(in visakhapatnam), and they discovered no thermal paste had been applied. They re-applied the paste and told me that the temp spike is very random and only in CPU not in GPU and this is very normal you can use it , but the temperature spikes persist. Is this behavior normal, or could there be an underlying issue due to improper servicing?

Update BIOS, Intel's 10th generation CPUs, known as Comet Lake, were launched in 2020, more than 4 years ago. Check your battery condition with Windows Battery Report (command prompt: powercfg /batteryreport) and select "Balanced" Power Plan in Windows and "Best Power Efficiency mode" in Power & Battery settings. Also consider getting a good quality, silent, 5-fan cooling pad that will also raise the laptop for better circulation.
