Is it possible to use my Acer Swift 1 (SF114-14) as a monitor for an external source?

OK, so I have a desktop computer, as well as my Swift 1 laptop. Recently, the desktop's monitor broke, and now I am wondering if it would be possible for me to use my laptop as a monitor for the desktop in question. The monitor has HDMI output capabilities.

To clarify, I'm not asking how to connect my laptop to an external monitor, but am instead asking about using it as a display for an external input source.

There is no such model as the Acer Swift SF114-14, the lowest numerical model starting with the first three digits of 114 is the 31 which is the SF114-31 laptop, see which exact Swift laptop you have.

Also, a laptops HDMI port is not an input display port its an output image port. But have a look at this guide "How To Change HDMI Output To Input On Laptop (Easy Guide)" and see if this works fro whatever Swift model laptop you have . Good luck.

It will not matter that much just which model you have, though we can give better information on your model once we know what it is. The only way I know of to do what you wish is through remote access software running on the desktop, then using the laptop to do that remote connection. There isn't any sort of direct video input connection to be had on the laptop, so it can't act as a dumb monitor without using software.
