Hardware Upgrades for Aspire A715-71G-71Q5

Hi there,

I have this older still performing model (Aspire A715-71G-71Q5) since 5 years, and time is come for some HW upgrading as I started to play around with local AI models.

Please note:

1. Already searched on some external websites (for example crucial.com and compudevices.com), but couldn' t really find updated and trusted information about HW compatibility.
2. Am asking for explicit indications from Acer, not just a redirect to another website. I can share my purchasing contract with Acer support whether needed.
3. Am not looking to buy another laptop. This one is running smoothly for all my other purposes - also having upgraded to Windows 11 24H2 through official MS guidelines.

The compatible upgrades I would like to evaluate, sorted by priority:

• RAM:
  • Is this motherboard supporting newer versions than DDR4?
  • Having a total of 2 phisical slots, which is the maximum size of RAM modules I can install? For example, 2 x 32GB SO-DIMM 260 pin, 2800 or 3200 MHz?
• CPU:
  • Which Intel CPU would be advised with this motherboard' s SOC?
• GPU:
  • Worth / Possible to replace with a more powerfull (and ... RAMish ...) NVidia GPU?

Storage is not an issue at all, having original 256GB SSD as primary disk + 1TB HDD (fast and almost unused).

Hi, the CPU and GPU in this model are soldered to the motherboard, which means not upgradeable. You could upgrade RAM up to 32GB (2x16GB) with DDR4 2133/2400MHz modules.
