Can I upgrade to an RTX 4060 on my acer predator PO3-630G or stick to a 30 series card?

I have an acer predator PO3-630G

Is a 4060 compatible or should I just get a 30 series card? I thought I saw a post some where saying a 4060 would work but I just want to make sure it will work and fit in my case and that I will have enough power from the power supply.

Its very hard to upgrade PSUs for these Acer proprietary boars that have a 2x 4 pin and 1x 6 pin power plugs as the new PSU 24 pin plug and adapter need to be specifically made so that the boards and fans operate properly with the appropriate pins, if its possible at all? For an upgrade like you want, its best to upgrade the whole mainboard to a 24pin power plug board that you will have more scope to upgrade to a higher spec and power gpu. Good luck.

The below charts are the PO3-640G desktop top spec gpu's and what PSUs it uses and that can work on its oem Acer 500W PSU, so try those out before moving up to the RTX4060 that needs a min 650W PSU.

So a 3060 should be fine or does it have to be the 3060ti? also every article that I see says that I need a 550W power supply.

An RTX 3060Ti graphics card will use around 200 watts of power when you’re using it for gaming. As with all graphics cards, even when ‘idle’ they still draw power, though nowhere near as much – around 9 watts for a single-monitor PC setup. So as long as you don't have peripherals running and usinga 500W oem Acer PSU the RTX3060Ti gpu.

A 4060s power needs are really pretty close to the same as a 3060, so in all likelihood the 4060 will work as well in the PO3-630G as well as a 3060 does. They don't list it in the service guide, because it wasn't available when the PO3-630 series shipped, but newer designs using the same size power supply do ship with 4060 and 4070 GPUs.
