Why can't I select 144Hz in display settings on nitro 5 AN515-54-58CL?

I bought a nitro 5 AN515-54-58CL, I searched the internet and it says it is compatible with 144hz, but when I go to the display settings, there is no other option besides 60hz

You should ensure that both your integrated Intel graphics drivers and NVIDIA graphics drivers are up to date by going to Device Manager, finding your display adapter, right-clicking it, and selecting Update driver. Next, open the NVIDIA Control Panel, go to Change resolution, and check if the 144Hz option is available—if it is, select it and apply the changes. Lastly, restart your laptop and look for display settings to ensure the refresh rate is set to 144Hz.

The reason for that is that the Nitro 5 AN515-54-58CL very few models were fitted with the 144Hz screen, and your AN515-54 hasn’t got the 144Hz refresher rate screen, its got the 60Hz screen.

Install HWiNFO64 software and see in that software’s Monitor section what exact model screen your AN515-54-58CL has. Also be aware that a 60Hz screen only has a 30pin video connector and if you want to upgrade your AN515-54-58CL to a 144Hz or a 165Hz screen you need a 40 pin video connector and you will need to buy a 30pin to 40pin adapter cable for the video connector cable to fit to the higher refresher rate screens like the 144Hz or 165Hz. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

The below list of screens are all the oem screens that Acer fitted to the Nitro 5 AN515-54 models, the highlighted screen are all 144Hz refresher rate screens fitted by Acer, but if you go to this link for this screen NV156FHM-N4K you will see that its got an upgrade option for an extra $30.00 for the 165Hz screen.
