Hey, see the image above.

To the point, I opened HWInfo today, and stumbled upon this.
The battery wear level is 17.9%, which I don't think is good.

I use my laptop with charger plugged in only during gaming, with Smart Charing on and Limited to 80%. I play games like 25-26 hours a week and other than that it's just casual work like surfing, coding, yt, etc. all too on Eco Mode with Low Power Efficiency(WinSettings), even as I write this post it is on the aforementioned settings.

I last unplugged my device, after charging it to 80% like 20 minutes ago and it is already at 56%.

I got my hands on the laptop on 05, October 2024. So it is like only 3 months and 10 days old.

Also with this, I'd like to ask,

  1. is charging cut OFF, like disabled, once the battery reaches 80%? i.e. the power from AC Adapter bypasses the battery straight to the components.
  2. If not then, while gaming, should I ensure the battery is already at 80% to ensure bypassed power to components instead through the battery to ensure minimal battery wear?
  3. If none of the above, then is it possible that Acer will soon release a BIOS update or Software update to implement this?

14 minutes have passed since I wrote about the battery percentage and right now the battery is at 48%.

Please ask, if any more information is required.

    @vishftw

    Try to calibrate the battery using the laptop until it shuts off and recharge to 100% (80% charging limit is off).

    Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
    Thank you and have a nice day!
