Hello, I have a concern about my laptop. It heats up significantly while charging, even during light tasks. The laptop is new, and I ensure proper ventilation while using it. Here are its specifications: Acer Nitro 5, Intel Core i7-12650H, RTX 4060, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and 1TB SSD.

Is this normal, or should I be worried? What steps can I take to resolve this issue?

Hi, if the battery is not charged to 100% when the power adapter is plugged in, quick charging will generate a lot of heat, this is normal. To avoid this and system power throttling it is recommended to keep the adapter plugged in 24/7 and the battery fully charged to 100% at all times.

Acer Nitro 5's overheating issue while charging, follow these steps: switch to the Balanced or Power Saver power plan, update your BIOS and drivers via the Acer Support Website, use Acer NitroSense to adjust fan speeds and cooling profiles, clean the vents and fans with compressed air, monitor background processes with Task Manager, and consider using a cooling pad.
