My Acer Aspire E5-575G with Intel Core i5-7200U @ 2.70 GHz already has everything to run Windows 11 except the CPU. I'd like to replace the CPU in my Acer with a CPU that will run Windows 11. Is that possible? If so, what would the recommended CPU be?

Upgrading the CPU in your Acer Aspire E5-575G is not possible. The CPU in your model is soldered to the motherboard, which means it cannot be replaced.

You can't change the cpu and the mobo TPD security chip for your E5-575G to be compatible with Win-11, best for you to do if you want Win-11, have a look at the new range of Acer Aspire like the AL16-51P with the Win-11 Pro or Home OS / upgradeable to max 64GB DDR5-4800MT/s speed ram / NVIDIA GeForce MX350 dedicated gpu / 512GB M.2 SSD PCIeGen4x4 drive, as this laptop will compare to what your Aspire E5-576G was in 2016 but its about 9 years newer in technology and better😁. Good luck.
