I recently purchase an Aspire 3 Spin 14, and it was perfect for my use of displaying my music.

Since upgrading to W11 24H2 it wont do what I want. The Tablet more wont initiate and therefore there is no auto rotation of the screen. It won't allow an uninstall of the upgrade, so I just need to start back from the factory default and not carry out any Windows updates until they "get it right".

Factory reset won't let you to downgrade to previous version.

    How to Go Back

    1. Open Settings
    2. Navigate to System > Recovery
    3. Look for Go back to previous version of Windows
    4. Follow on-screen instructions

    Important Notes

    • Typically available within 10 days of update
    • Preserves most user files
    • Removes recently installed apps and updates
    • Requires sufficient disk space

It would help a lot to know which Spin 3 you have, there have been a bunch of different ones over the years. It is likely easier to just get tablet mode working again rather than trying to go back. When Windows does major updates, like the 23H2 to 24H2 update, it wipes off the original factory image and replaces it with a generic 24Hs image instead.

billsey, Thank you for your suggestion,

I have an almost new Aspire 3 Spin 14 which was delivered with Windows 11. I suspect you are correct, but I'm not entirely sure which files to restore to re-establish the Tablet mode along with the screen rotation.

There have been a lot of different models in that series over the years. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like xxxxx-xxx-xxxx. Since it's new I expect it will likely be one of the A3SP14-31PT models, but can't be sure. You shouldn't need to restore anything, just change the settings for screen rotation.
