Battery Issues with Aspire 5 17-52 (17.3'') – Seeking Advice

Hi everyone,

I've been experiencing some frustrating battery issues with my Acer Aspire 5 17-52 (17.3'') laptop. When I first purchased it (about 2-3 years ago), the battery was advertised to last up to 10 hours on a full charge. However, despite tweaking all the settings for optimal power efficiency and using the battery saver mode, it still seems to drain rapidly.

I checked the Task Manager and noticed a lot of background processes running, but it's hard to figure out which ones are necessary and which ones I can safely disable.

Since my laptop is now out of warranty and otherwise in good condition, I'm hesitant to replace the battery just yet—as it feels like it’s too soon. As a student, having a reliable battery is super important for me.

Does anyone have any tips on:

  1. Identifying and managing unnecessary background processes?
  2. Troubleshooting battery health or improving its performance?
  3. Determining if a battery replacement is really necessary?
  4. And literally anything else on how to prevent this from happening

Here are some screenshots there is probably 2-3 more lengths of these on my task manager.
