Touchpad not working in Acer Predator Helios 300. Doesn't work even after installing drivers.

I have an Acer Predator Helios 300. I've had it for about a year now I think, and around 6 months ago the touchpad just stopped working.

It happened around the same time that I first connected a mouse to it via USB to play some games. Only the mouse would work, not the trackpad, even if I disconnected the mouse. I didn't mind using a mouse at the time so I didn't bother looking into it.

Every now and then, however, the touchpad would suddenly start working again. It would work for a few hours or even a day sometimes, before becoming unusable again.

A few days ago, I started looking into the issue. As it turns out, my laptop doesn't have any touchpad drivers installed. Only the mouse I'm using appears in the Device Manager (I will attach a screenshot). So, I tried downloading the proper drivers through Acer's website by inputting my device's serial number and getting the ELANTECH and Synaptics drivers. For two days, this fixed the issue and my trackpad was working normally again whether or not my mouse was plugged in.

Then, the touchpad suddenly stopped working and I realized that the drivers got uninstalled when I looked in the Device Manager. So, I tried installing them again, but there is no change now. My touchpad is still lifeless no matter what I do. Today, as recommended by threads online, I reset my device's BIOS settings to default and even reset Windows entirely. The touchpad still does not work.

The only thing I haven't tried at this point is opening the back to see if something is disconnected. I don't know enough about computers to know what I'd be looking for, though.

If anyone can help at all I would greatly appreciate it. It's driving me crazy not being able to use my laptop without having a mouse. I just want to use it normally.
