I am testing a new Acer Predator Helios 16 PH16-72-981U. It has a very bright screen en keyboerdkeys with symbolbacklicht. Good for my weak sight.
I am trying to enter the BIOS in order to select the bootsequence.
This does not work as stated in the User Manual.
What is the right key to use or at what moment in the startup sequnce?

Hi, use the Delete Key: Sometimes, the Delete key can also be used to enter the BIOS.
Try Different Timing: Press the F2 key repeatedly right after you power on the laptop. Timing can be crucial.
Use the Novo Button: Some Acer laptops have a small button near the power button or on the side that can be pressed with a paperclip to enter the BIOS.

Boot to BIOS in Windows, type BIOS in Search and click on "Change advanced startup options" Select UEFI

    Hi,

Thank you for your suggestions. In the mean time I did things like that myself. F2 repeatedly BEFORE the Predator-sign shows does enter a nice first screen of the BIOS.
NEXT THING I WANT TO DO is change the bootorder. ANOTHER PROBLEM TO SOLVE. There is only Windows Boot Manager.
This has to be changed before the RAID 0 is turned of. Because all available info on the disks will be lost.
To be able to change tho bootlist to basic devices I need accesrights of ADMIN level. Changing that does not show an alternative bootchain. NOTE that I have to move within the limites of the Right To Return the product in factory settings.
    Any suggestions?

Hi, not sure I can follow you, once in BIOS enable the F12 key and save changes on exit BIOS, boot with F12 instead of F2 and see what it shows in the boot devices list.

    Hi,

I Agree it seems complicated. I try to explain.
The BIOS is originally not protected by a password. That prohibbits changing the settings of thing like bootorder. The bootlist contains ony 1 entry. Windows bootmanager. That is located in the first partition on disk. Should I switch off RAID 0 than all data on disk are lost. So then the boot from BIOS does not work anny more.
I have no copy of the current BIOS settings. I am not allowed to make changes as long as I can return the Laptop to the supplier. ( 30 days right of return)
The Windosoperation is tested ok. IF THE BIOS was as expected I would decide to keep the PC.
Later on I might finish this Quote.
