All of the keys do not work except for the power button.
External keyboards do work, but i would like to get the inbuilt keyboard to work.

The backlight is still on and working for the internal keyboard.

The only fixes i have seen are for when external keyboards also don't work.

I have a feeling it is not a hardware issue purely because the power button works, but maybe i could be wrong.

What should i try to fix it before ruling it out as a hardware issue.

Hi, a 2018 laptop, likely to be the keyboard after daily use, not the KB ribbon cable connector as the power button is working. Boot to BIOS with F2 and see if you can navigate with the arrow keys, if that works and you can boot to Safe Mode (interrupt booting 3 times with the power button) it may be the KB driver. Using your external KB or OSK open Devices Manager and uninstall Standard PS/2 keyboard in Keyboards and just reboot, a replacement keyboard with backlight is not expensive ($40): ACER ASPIRE NITRO 5 AN515-41 AN515-42 AN515-52 AN515-53 BACKLIT KEYBOA – Makotek Computer Sales Inc

the kb did not work in bios.
i live in indonesia so keyboard replacement is expensive.
am i just incredibly lucky that the power button still works or do they have extra protection on that part?

Most likely hardware. My best guess is the KB cable wedge assembly. Maybe warped? The white push wedgies on the sides often break off or otherwise don't apply enough pressure to make good contact with the ends of the ribbon. I've had to tape the cable end or use a mylar film spacer inside the connector on some boards to make good contact. The white line on the ribbon must be parallel to and just kissing the edge of the connector
