Three months ago, my laptop was functioning perfectly. However, one morning, when I powered it on, I noticed that the screen's colors seemed off, and the display no longer appeared to be in Full HD. Upon closer inspection, I saw strange pixelation, with some colors and pixels missing across the screen. Additionally, as shown in the photos I took, there appears to be a burnt-out pixel.

Interestingly, after 12–15 days, the issue resolved itself without any intervention. However, after nearly two months, the same problem has resurfaced and persisted for the past 1.5 months.

What could be causing this issue, and what steps can I take to resolve it? I would greatly appreciate your advice and suggestions.

Laptop specifications:

Brand: Acer
Model: Aspire 5 A515-45
RAM: 16GB
SSD: 1TB
OS Edition: Windows 11 Home Single Language
Version: 24H2
Installed on: 11/29/2024
OS Build: 26100.2605
Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.36.0

Given these details, I'm puzzled about why the laptop won't start on battery power alone. Could this be a hardware issue, or is there something wrong with the battery or power management system?

Any advice on diagnosing and fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I have the same Acer Aspire 5 A515-43 model. I started to see partial negative sand display with intermittent flashes of white screen. I had installed a number of software products, and I think one of them corrupted my AMD Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics drivers.

I found a lot of drivers and it was confusing to which one is my model and graphics chip. So I downloaded ChatGPT from Windows Store. It is free. I provided my description as stated above and added driver corruption. The AI took me to Device Manager and clicked on that driver. It told me to just click on Update Driver and the AI caused the newer driver to be selected and installed the updated driver. It told me to restart my laptop. No more display problems.

Could you walk me through it step-by-step so I can try it?
