Just register your laptop to verify. Also, make sure you are entering the correct serial number. Copy and paste it from the Acer Care Centre to fully confirm.

Main reason can be that recently purchased laptop not yet registered in system. If you still facing the same issue, then contact Acer customer care using the below link through live chat or email. They will check your laptop and can help you easily in this case.

You can also see this if you have gone to the wrong Acer site. It should automatically take you to the site that matches your country, but that doesn't always work. A machine purchased in Thailand won't show up on the UK site, for instance.

This seems to be a very common problem judging by the forum results.

I have entered the SNID several times exactly as it is shown on the sticker underneath my laptop, and the result is always "SNID not found". The same with the model number copied from the sticker, and the same with the long string of characters from the barcode.

I just want to update the drivers, but the site is stopping me.

Maybe it's because it's an old laptop, but it would be helpful if they gave a message to say that instead of telling you to enter it again.

The model I am now writing this on is a A0531h-0Db Acer Aspire One from 2009 and it's working well except a little slow. I have defragged the HDD,scanned for malware, and now trying to see if there are any driver updates.

Are you on the correct Acer site for the locale in which it was purchased? They don't have a global database for those numbers, it seems they have a database for each country… Also, some time after a model has all of it's units fall out of warranty they purge those databases. The original post here doesn't tell us which model they had, so we can't tell how old it is. In your case, the Acer One 531h models came out with Windows 7 and that has been end of life for many years now. Acer will have purged support files, including driver files, several years ago. You will have to rely on Microsoft (if you have upgraded it to Windows 10) or third party archive sites for drivers for that 2008 or 2009 model.
