How can I fix the high temperatures (90-100°C) and low FPS issues on my Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-58) with

I own an Acer Nitro 5 (Model: AN515-58) with the following specs:

  • Intel Core i7-12650H (12th Gen)
  • NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti
  • 16GB DDR4 RAM
  • Native resolution: 2560x1440 (2K)

I'm experiencing high temperatures and low FPS during gaming and general use. Here are the details:

  1. Gaming Performance:
    • While gaming at 1080p, even for relatively simple games like Dark Souls and GTA 5, I get low FPS despite having a high-performance laptop.
    • When set to "Balanced" power mode, the temperatures hover around 92-93°C, and in "Performance" mode, they spike to 100°C.
  2. Non-Gaming Use:
    • When performing non-intensive tasks like watching YouTube or browsing (with no background apps running), temperatures sometimes hit 90°C.
    • The issue persists regardless of whether the discrete GPU is active or not.

I've ensured all drivers and Windows updates are up to date, and the laptop is clean and placed on a flat surface for ventilation.

How can I resolve these high temperatures and low FPS issues? Are there specific settings, optimizations, or cooling techniques I should use? Could this be a hardware defect?
