Recently, I updated my Acer Aspire Lite, and now, whenever I open the camera, it starts up but then displays a message saying, "no camera attached." Is this an issue specific to my laptop, or are other users experiencing the same problem?

Hi, the webcam is integrated in the laptop and controlled by Windows, no drivers are available. Open Device Manager and uninstall the Acer FHD User Facing device in Cameras, just reboot and Windows will install the webcam. If still no camera detected you can restore the system to before that update, type Restore in Search and click on "Create a restore point" and "System Restore" and select a date, you won't lose any data just the upgrade. May take up to 30 minutes to restore, don't abort don't touch anything, don't disconnect the adapter/charger.

I believe the Acer Aspire Lite series of laptops are designed only for India, and we don't have visibility into their specs or detailed hardware info. Typically the camera (and microphone) is connected to the motherboard through an internal USB port. Does your microphone still work? If so the issue is most likely software and the drivers suggestion above will help. If the microphone also is not working then the issue is more likely either the cable running between the motherboard and camera module or the module itself. Unfortunately we can't look up part numbers or instruction for repair. Maybe contact a service center near you?
