ACER ASPIRE A514-53
So, today I plugged the charger in my laptop at 18% and shut the lid down with browser open and went away for 1.5 hrs and when i was back I noticed that my battery is now at 20%.

Now after 15 mins its at 29%.

Little context:

My laptop wouldn't start in morning and i have to plug it in for a while and continuously try again and again then it starts so i thought maybe because battery is old now (almost 4yrs) so few days back i replaced it with a new acer battery but its happening again and now this happened.

I replaced it on 24th Dec and today is 28th.

Suggest me what do i do and why is it happening.

Thanks.

Hi, you may not have completed "One Full Charge Cycle" to register the battery capacity in BIOS/MS ACPI protocol, so the system is still using the old (bad) battery data. Reset BIOS with F9 in BIOS and Save changes on exit BIOS. Boot to Windows and uninstall the 2 battery drivers in Device Manager (see picture) and reboot, reset the Power Plan to factory default in "Edit Power Plan" and Disable Fast Startup and Hibernate in "Change what closing the lid does". Shut down and disconnect the power adapter. There is a small pinhole in the back of your laptop (with a battery sign) and stick a pin in that hole till you feel it click (micro switch), keep pressing the pin for a few seconds. This will reset the battery. If you still cannot fast charge the battery to 100% (should not take more than 50 minutes) you need to replace the power adapter. Charge the battery to 100%, disconnect the adapter and work till the laptop shuts down on its own, close the lid and plug-in the adapter charge to 100% again till the amber battery light turns blue and wait 10 minutes. That's it.
