Hi,

My wife bought me this Laptop for Christmas.

I also got a set of AKG Y500 head phones. the sound quality is great

but when i connect to my laptop, it's terrible.

How can i adjust the settings? is there a third party software download?

The other thing is the back lit keyboard is brilliant, but then turns itself off?

Thanks

Grant

Your Aspire A515-52G is a 2018 laptop and its not designed as a massive Hi-Fi platform, either with its speakers or its audio for headphones, but it does have a respectable Realtek ALC255 codec and with a noise cancelling headphones like the AKG Y500 the sound should be very acceptable, but don’t expect the same from its speakers that is powered by the Realtek ALC255 build-in class-D speaker amplifier, as they will be tinny and awful 😀so get that straight from the start.

The Win-10 22H2 version OS build 19045.5247 that your laptop should be running has an oem included dts sound enhancer that should improve the sound quality somewhat, but this sound enhancer free trial period must have expired and you don’t have anything to improve sound quality.

What I suggest is that you us a free sound enhancer called FxSound as this has allot of audio pre-sets for different audio like jazz, rock, classical etc etc and is a great sound booster, btw I’ve used this from when it was released and it works perfectly, so that out. Good luck an hope this helps you out.
