A515-57G RTX 2050-Performance Issue-GPU usage in Witcher3 doesn't use the GPU to its full potential.

Hi,

I’m having issues with poor performance and almost no GPU usage on my Acer Aspire A515-57G with a 1440p display (I’m running games at 1080p). The laptop has an i7-1260P and an RTX 2050 (35W). The only way I get decent performance is by using the oldest drivers from Acer’s support page.

I’ve tried updating to newer drivers from both Acer and NVIDIA, but performance just gets worse every time. For example, when I tested The Witcher 3, even with the older drivers that "work," my FPS is still lower than it should be compared to benchmarks of the same laptop.

Thermal throttling has also been an issue with this laptop, so I’ve been using ThrottleStop to prevent it.

I haven’t tried using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely wipe the drivers before installing newer ones—should I give that a shot? Is this a known issue with this laptop or the RTX 2050? I’m not sure why only this specific older driver seems to work.

Any advice or help would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

Note: Using the oldest drivers does lead to OK GPU usage in The Witcher 3 but it still doesn't use the GPU to its full potential.
