I have problems with keyboard and mouse. The keyboard will, for no reason, enter text backwards, both the physical keyboard AND the virtual keyboard. Also the mouse behaves erratically, zooming through tabs. I have tried all of the online solutions, and it happens with replacements. I do not want to reset the whole system and find that it is not solved my problem so, can anyone out their help? I have a Travelmate running Windows 11 and right now, the typing is perfect! so what can be going on? Thanks.

Hi, you can restore the system that is far less obtrusive than a Reset as it just sets the time back when the system was still OK, takes 5 minutes to do and you won't lose anything other than updates made during the period. Type Restore in Search and click on "Create a restore point", and on "System Restore" with a date when everything was still working.

Many thanks. I have already followed that route unsuccessfully!

Which TravelMate do you have? There have been hundreds and hundreds of different ones since their initial release in 1997. :) Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like xxxxx-xxx-xxxx. Which OS are you running, and which version of that OS?

You likely did this by unwittingly pressing CTRL + right SHIFT. To switch back to typing from left to right, press CTRL + left SHIFT.

Another way to fix this is to go to Start menu > Settings app > Time and Language > Language > Keyboard and make sure the correct input method is chosen.
