(Windows 11 23H2) My Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 Keeps beeping when Plugged in
Tinkerer
I've been using the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 for 7/8 months. Recently I've been facing this issue. Whenever I turned on my laptop with power cable plugged in, it keeps beeping for a few minutes, and I can see the battery status icon keeps changing from plugged in to not plugged in. And when this happens, the laptop feels so laggy and unusable. After a few minutes it stops beeping and charger icon says plugged in. And then if I restart my laptop everything works just fine without any issue. So, what's the main cause of this? Is the cable faulty or something? or is it related to the laptop?

Hi, check this thread: Sporatic Beeping When I Open My New Laptop and Lags Forever Predator Helios Neo 16 β Acer Community you are not posting your laptop model, is this a PHN16-71-73LT or PHN16-71-78Y5? Check if your Bios version is 1.16 dated 2023/12/15.

Update the Neo 16 to the latest Win-11 version 24H2 and all its updates to the December 2024 OS build 26100.2605 as it might be that your laptop is running the old 23h2 version and has obsolete divers and also update the bios to the last version Neo 16 model that you have and also update all the firmware updates available from Acer and the optional windows updates and let us know if that fixes the problem. Good luck.

It could be the DC_In port of the laptop that could be faulty or the adapter, as the beeps should not be happening when the laptop is plugged into the adapter, otherwise have the laptop checked by Acer tech support. Good luck.

No. I still haven't

It's a normal feature which ensures the charger is connected properly. There is a tip here that might help you.

that is not it. I think you haven't read my whole post.

this is the main issue. And the beeping now stays for like 5/6 minutes. And I am unable to do anything these 5/6 minutes because of lag. This is not a feature.0
