My Spin314-54N-5258 bios does not have TPM enable option

I want to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11. But Windows compatibility check identified no TPM in my machine. The suggested way to enable it in the BIOS does not work because there is no such option there. ACER does say that this model supports Windows 11.

Please provide me with a solution on how to let the windows upgrade utility see the TPM in my machine as it must have one if it is compatible to run Windows 11. Thank you.

Thanks for your guide. I have checked with the Acer's support site and have updated the bios to its latest version for my laptop model. But, after that, I went into the firmware (Advanced tabs) and still didn't see the TPM section! I guess the last solution is to install Windows 11 by bypassing the compatibility test. But Windows 11 Installation Assistant did not provide me with an option to bypass the TPM at all.

Yes, Microsoft doesn't allow bypassing the TPM check, except for with the Chinese version, where TCM is allowed instead.

The Acer Spin 3 SP314-54N-5258 model does support TPM 2.0. essential for running Windows 11 and other security-sensitive applications. The CPU is also 10th Gen so you should have no issues upgrading to W11 23H2. Press Windows Key + X and select "Device Manager." Look for "Security devices" in the list. If you see "Trusted Platform Module 2.0," it means TPM is present. Boot to BIOS with F2 and go to the Security page, press Ctrl+S to show the hidden options, TPM 2.0 enabled is the default setting.

To check the TPM version, go to this guide for the 3 different ways to check TPM. Your Acer Spin SP314-54N laptop should have the following bios and in its Security section there are TPM settings, but even if you don't have the below settings for TPM in the bios (which is unusual) the Spin SP314-54N laptop is fully Win-11 compatible as its got the TPM 2.0 chip on its mainboard. Good luck.

Go to Run and type tpm.msc and you will get the below screen:

    Spin 314-54N Security section bios

Check in the BIOS to see if you have enabled the TPM device. Or look at the bottom and check the model number sticker, if you see all the text is Chinese, this model's TPM is temporarily disabled.

Where are you located? IIRC those earlier machines had TPM disabled in some countries, due to differing requirements for security.

The BIOS also doesn't have the security section too. I am in Hong Kong. I bought the SPIN 314-54N 2 years ago in Hong Kong from an authorized seller in their store.

Yes, all the models made for China have that issue. China didn't like TPM because they couldn't access encrypted data when TPM 2.0 was installed. I don't know of a workaround, though I thought Microsoft removed the TPM restriction and replaced it with TCM support instead for those Chinese Windows versions.

Wow! I haven't heard this one before. Then I guess when the time comes that Win 10 is no longer maintained by the Microsoft, there will be a solution published for this part of the world. Thank you for your information.
