I have looked everywhere for info. regarding the broken hinge of Aspire 315, can I get replaced just the hinge or not, I've been told I may need to replace the hinge as part of a new casing. Anyone who knows it would be very appreciative.

Hi, this has to be repaired by Acer Services in your country, definitely not a DIY job, the hinge assembly is not expensive, but it involves changing the frame, bezel and if the motherboard is damaged or the screen is cracked a new board/panel, estimated at a minimum cost of $200. Patching it up with epoxy glue won't last 10 minutes as there is a lot of force applied to a hinge and polycarbonate with metal don't bind. Don't close the laptop as the lid flexes with only one hinge and you may crack the screen.
