Accidentally put 12v in laptop usn (Acer Nitro 5 an515-45) please help

I have Acer Nitro 5 an515-45 and I accidentally putted 12v in laptop USB port . The laptop turned off and showing no indication of light and charging can please anyone tell what could be short-circuit in motherboard. I am afraid that what if it could be cpu or GPU please help

    Hi, as you found out the hard way. the USB-C port on this model is primarily for data transfer and does not support charging. The 12V DC charge will have damaged the USB interface-board that needs to be repaired or replaced by Acer Services in your country, Warranty on this 2021 laptop likely expired so there may be considerable repair costs.

    If your Acer oem barrel plug 135W 19.5V 1.7x5.5 and adapter doesn't power your AN515-45 laptop after you put the 12v into the USB-C port, then you have major power rail problems and it could be that the 12v fried the mosfet chips that protect the cpu or gpu or both and other components of the laptop.

    You need to take your laptop to a technician who can test and inject a low current into your laptop and see with a thermal gun which circuits are shorted or and if the cpu or the gpu is fried or where the problem is. You cant fix these sorts of faults yourself, as you needs special equipment and expertise. Good luck.
