Why is my new NVMe SSD M.2 4 pcle performing at slow speeds in predator orion 3000 po3 620?
Hello guys i have predator orion 3000 po3 620 and i upgraded the nvme ssd to Black SN850X NVMe SSD M.2 with speed of around 7300 MB/s, read speed. But when i look it up in my cmd promt (Winsat disk) I get speed of 1500 MB/S read. only performing of around 20% of max speed.
The slot is pcle 3.0 on the motherboard, but pcle 3.0 supports 8gbs. so it should not be a problem.
I cant find anything specifik in the bios to change the settings for nvme to increase speed.
Anyone know how i can increase the speed, or what might be wrong ?
Thank you !
here is the motherboard it is located in slot 23:

Hi, PCIe Gen 3 operates at 8 GT/s (gigatransfers per second) which roughly translates to 1 GB/s per PCIe lane. By comparison, PCIe Gen 4 operates at 16 GT/s, or around 2 GB/s (gigabytes per second) per lane. So, your Gen4 SSD will run with 4 lanes (3x4) at 3000 MB/s or 1500 MB/s on a 3x2 slot with 2 lanes.

Try to use the crystal disk mark to test the SSD r/w speed.
