How to output video from Thunderbolt port on PHN16-72-91P6

I'm trying to output to dual external monitors from the Thunderbolt port on my new Helios 300 Neo 16

I have a USB-C hub with dual HDMI ports that I am able to use with a work laptop through the USB-C conection to output to two 1440p monitors but my new Helios won't recognize any external monitors.

I also tried getting a Thunderbolt usb-c hub and it still won't send any signal or detect monitors.

What am I missing? Does it require displayport instead of HDMI?

thank you

Hi, check the Cable: Ensure that the HDMI cable and the USB-C to HDMI adapter are functioning properly. Sometimes, a faulty cable or adapter can cause connectivity issues.

Update Drivers: Make sure that your graphics drivers, Thunderbolt driver/utility (see picture) and your BIOS is the new version 1.14. You can download the latest drivers from the Acer support page.

Display Settings: Go to your display settings and ensure that the external monitor is detected. You can do this by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting "Display settings," and checking if the monitor appears there. If it does, make sure it is set to "Extend" or "Duplicate" mode.

Try a Different Port, there are 2 USB-C ports that both support Display Port Alt mode.

If none of this helps, contact Acer Services in your country how to proceed with a repair under warranty.

Thanks for the reply, I had tried all of those solutions but it turns out what I needed to do was hit the keyboard shortcut to enable external monitor output (Fn+F7 on this machine) and choose "Extend" for them to be detected. Not sure why trying to detect from Windows or Nvidia display settings wasn't doing it.

The monitors were detected and I was able to have 2 external 1440p screens plus the laptop open with everything working great. It even worked through my non-thunderbolt USB-C hub although it was a little more finnicky.

Now this machine is a perfect desktop replacement with plenty of power for gaming and content creation!
