Has anyone been able to connect a Bluetooth Speaker and the Nitro 5 AN 515-57?

I was able to pair the speaker with the laptop. However, after numerous attempts I cannot select the speaker for sound output.

Acer stated the cost $100. I think this is bad CRM.

That is impossible, if the external BT speakers pair with your laptop then they should work and have sound, as your laptop should output sound to them. I've got a similar Nitro AN515-56 laptop that has the same Killer 1650i card to your AN515-57 laptop and I've got a set of BT headphones and BT external speakers paired to my laptop and both work perfectly with no issues.

If there is no sound, then it could be either the Killer 1650i BT card section that is the issue (uninstall and reinstall the oem initial BT driver version 22.40.0.2) as on my AN515-56 my laptop only works with the BT driver version 22.40.0.2 and it won't work with any other new updated Killer driver, as there is no sound. so, this could be what is the problem with your AN515-57 laptop. Otherwise, your laptop has an internal audio problem that you need to have the laptop analyzed by a technician and fixed. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    A Realteck head scratcher.

So now BT is paired. Windows sounds play through the Bluetooth speaker. However, that is all I can play is Windows warnings. When booting sound is coming through the BT speaker. Removed the drivers and re-booted. Drivers were reinstalled with same issue.

    Never say impossible.

You have to appreciate that these laptops audio is not only governed by the Realtek audio driver, as part of the audio and sound output is also determined by the Intel graphics driver which has an audio component driver and its the same with the NVidia graphic driver, as all these drivers determine the audio output, so be aware of this.

As you can't just update the Realtek audio driver as it will affect the audio output, it happened to me on my laptop, that is how I know, you need to reinstall the Realtek audio, Intel graphics and the NVidia graphics as a clean install, as doing all that will ensure that the laptops audio is updated and works 100%. Good luck.
