E-Recovery Media-USB drive-order getting cancelled-5th time notification of cancelled/re-order.

My order for E-Recovery Media USB drive has been cancelled 5 times. Bank has stated no problems with card. Spoke with Support, re-ordered with support viewing my action. After finishing with support received, I received a fifth notification of cancelled/re-order. I cannot locate a UK email address to contact with my complaint. Very poor customer service.

    Try asking customer service for an online image you could write to USB yourself.

    Hi, the easiest way is taking the device to Acer Services in your country to reset the system to factory default for a small service fee, or if you don't care for all the Acer bloatware download the Windows ISO image from: https://uupdump.net/ and create an USB Windows Installation flash drive with RUFUS: Rufus - Creating boota... | FileWave KB and clean install Windows with that USB drive.

    I guess our main question is why you are looking at purchasing the recovery media? You don't mention what computer you have, so we can't help with any issues you might be having. Typically using the recovery flash drive to restore the system back to factory is a last resort…

    Many thanks for your response. Machine details are Aspire 514-54-53BF with Windows 11 HOME. Past experience, I found its less time consuming to use restore to factory default with installation of other apps, updates etc later. Today, I received a response from Acer Support, who asked the question. Quote" What do you want to do on your device with the e-recovery media, the ones on our website currently are not available for purchase?

    sri369 suggested asking support to supply an online image to write to a USB, which I made in my reply to support. Puraw was of the same frame of mind and suggested using uupdump.net/Rufus.

    Maybe an Aspire A514-54? I don't see any models without the A. With these models the factory image is stored in a recovery partition on the drive. If the drive itself hasn't failed you can boot using ALT-F10 to get into the recovery menu and restore the factory image from there. If you have done a major Windows upgrade, like from W10 to W11 or used the Windows reset process to do a full reset then that partition has been wiped and rewritten. What is your goal? Acer support is very unlikely to provide a full recovery image as a download. The full recovery image includes a Windows license, and Acer has to pay for those… Since you already have a license it's often easier, assuming the factory image has be overwritten, to just do a vanilla Windows reinstall or reset then download only the Acer specific apps, such as Acer Care Center and Quick Access.

    Many thanks for your response. All points taken on board. Support suggested my bank card is the problem. I bought a Sony lens from the Sony Online shop last night, transaction went through without any problem. How-ever I did buy from the ACER shop before with my last bank card, the only difference in the new card is the last four digits. I would confidently say, they still have the old card number in their system, but they won't admit it. Will look for new laptop after Christmas.
