Nitro XV272U Vbmiiprx flickering power on startup

Part Number: UM.HX2AA.V02

On startup from sleep and from shutdown, the monitor will turn off and on repeatedly for anywhere between 2 minutes to 10 minutes until it stabilizes and works normally.

I've been using this monitor for about a year, until this problem started about a week ago and have been looking for a solution since.

I have done the Acer Troubleshooting monitor power issues but nothing has worked: The problem persists even when making sure everything is securely connected, used a different wall outlet, when I reset the monitor, and when I used another monitor power cable.

Could this be a problem with the monitor itself or something else? I recall updating some drivers (both NVIDIA and Windows) before this problem appeared, but I am not sure if drivers are the reason for this.

Does the issue occur if you disconnect the HDMI cable?

There may be several reasons for your screen flickering:

Loose or damaged cable connection: A faulty cable connecting the screen to the motherboard may cause flickering.

Outdated or incompatible drivers: If your computer’s display drivers are outdated or incompatible, it may lead to screen flickering issues.

Faulty screen or hardware: A faulty screen or internal hardware component can also cause flickering.
Overheating: Overheating the laptop can cause the screen flickering issue.

Software issues: Some software or apps may cause some problems, leading to screen flickering.
Incorrect refresh rate: An incorrect refresh rate setting may also result in a flickering screen issue.

You can start by checking your HDMI, Display-Port, or USB-C cables. Ensure that the cables are securely connected to both the monitor and the laptop. Make sure that the cable is fully tightened and it doesn’t look
or feel loose. This applies to all cable types, which can become loose for various reasons. Plug in your system to an external monitor to check if the issue reoccurs.

If the problem does not occur on the external display, it may be due to a hardware issue with the laptop’s screen. Next is to make sure that the graphic card driver is update. Outdated drivers may cause incompatibility, leading to screen flickering problems.

Regularly updating drivers ensures optimal performance and a flicker-free experience. Also to note overheating can cause hardware issues so, routinely check your laptop’s temperature to ensure it is not overheating. Make sure you clean any dust or debris from the vents and fans to improve airflow.

My cables (power, HDMI, DP) are fine - I used another monitor to check if it worked and it did with no issue. Drivers are up to date via NVIDIA app, but the problem is still there.

Im starting to think it might just be faulty hardware.

If you see the issue in the splash screen or in the OSD menu without a computer connected, the issue is almost certainly hardware. If you are still in warranty, contact Acer support and have them fix it.

Make sure the power cord is sitting tight, or there might be some problem with the internal power supply.
