Hello Acer Community,

I found on Black Friday the Acer Predator Orion 7000 PO7-650 with the following specs:

I7-13700KF

RTX4090

32GB DDR5 RAM at 4.400 without XMP (can't Be activated because the modules are not XMP)

SSD 2TB

at 2.500€ and I was just going for it. Since its a pre-build gaming PC i was researching the forums about possibles upgrades at it but I didn't find something to clear my questions.

I was buying a new set of DDR5 at 6.400 after i saw on crucial website that for PO7-650 they will be compatible at this MT/s but because of delivery date of crucial it's too long I was getting the VIPER ones because I thought they will work. https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/acer/predator-orion-7000-po7-650-ur11?srsltid=AfmBOoqzstIri28o2zk8RXcLglJClT0dOAIeatFiP-nRSpupMVuQOlGU

Click on the link above to see the compatibility.

But they didn’t work, the PC was starting to beep after I install them (DIMM1 and DIMM2). Yes, I tried to put only 1 RAM to see if they work but same thing, so I returned them and now I am waiting for the crucial RAM to arrive and to try them too.

My question is, does somebody have some experience with upgrading the RAM? Having such a PC without RAM with XMP its kind of frustrating.

Second question, did somebody change the case and installed a bigger AIO? I have the 240mm one and its very loud, when I Overclock the CPU from Predator app on “Faster “. I was thinking to change the case to get a better airflow and to install a 360mm AIO with push/pull maybe or a 420mm one just to be safe. (would be any problem for guarantee if i change the case and install a better AIO?)

All around the PC its great and I am happy with it because at 2.5k you can't get any prebuild with 4090. on gaming its going the CPU at 70-75°C and GPU I saw maximum 60°C but still. on long run I want to keep it cooler.

Sorry for the long post and hope somebody can help me, thank you!

Yeah, I don't like Crucial's automatic memory thing just because they show everything that they make that will work at all, in reverse price order, so the most expensive options are first if they work at all, even if they don't work as expected. If you want to put XMP memory in, you have to remove the existing memory and only use XMP. Once it's in place you have to boot to the BIOS and enable XMP. If for any reason you decide to put the stock memory back in, you need to disable XMP first or else you'll seem to be bricked. Here are the memory population instructions:

Note that on the MB the slots are numbers 1, 3, 2, 4, not 1, 2, 3, 4. So if you installed the memory into the first two slots they were actually in 1 and 3, which isn't supported.

Click on "Like" if you find my answer useful or click on "Yes" if it answers your question.

@billsey I installed in DIMM 1 and DIMM 2 .. i builded a few PC`s in my life so its not that the problem, the problem is that I installed the Patrio RAM`s and the PC doesnt start at all and it was beeping .. thats why i sent them back because i couldnt even acces the BIOS, nothing and then i returned them and order the crucial ones.

Thats why I make the topic to ask if somebody have the experience of upgrading the RAM and if somebody got the Crucial ones or maybe another ones wich they work.
