Upgrading RAM on acer neo 16, getting black screen

I tried to upgrade my laptop from 16g to 32g, but was unable as adding another stick made my laptop stuck in black screen. If i put the new RAM in slot 1 by removing old RAM the system works but trying to make it dual channel doesnot work. Also, using my OLD RAM on slot 2 also didnot work. I hadn't used this slot before. Is it some bios related issue or my SLOT 2 is damaged?

Hi, post your full Predator Helios Neo 16 model like: PHN16-71-59FC, with the 16GB SODIMM full details you have installed and the RAM module you are adding, and we will try to help.

Make sure first that you have the last bios version installed before you upgrade the ram. If you have the PNH16-71 you can only install DDR5-4800MT/s max speed ram or if you have the PHN16-72 you can install DDR5-5600MT/s type ram, so be aware of this also.

Then you need to buy a 32GB kit of 2x DDR5 with the same ram for the Neo to be upgraded with DDR5 ram, that is why its not working, you can't just add 1x 16GB DDR5 module of random ram to the existing Acer fitted oem ram, as they have to be a matching pair. After you have installed this new ram, you need to be patient and wait until the bios analyzes and registers the new ram before the laptop boots into the OS. Btw, this laptop can run up to 64GB DDR5 type ram also. Good luck and hope it helps you out.

The model of the ram i tried to use is JM4800ASE-16G from transcend. It should be compatible with my system as i have seen numerous video of same upgrade and also has same specs. The most disappointing thing is that existing RAM could not boot in slot 2 too. I waited for about 10 min when i put the ram inslot 2. The laptop reads new RAM in about a minute and runs well if i use it on slot 1 and dont use slot 2. But adding RAM in slot 2 makes laptop go blackscreen only the keyboard light lights up. As slot 2 channel has never been used does it take more time to recognizs this new channel or there is a bios thats need to be done or the slot is bad? Also i am on latest bios 1.18 and laptop model is phn16-71-7300. If you have any idea plz help @Puraw @StevenGen
