I have a TMP215-54

I've tried running a standard windows 11 installation media on it but I have no mouse or keyboard. How do I enable the mouse and keyboard when installing windows on an Acer TravelMate|P (TMP215-54)

The touchpad should work as a mouse in the BIOS or when running an install. If the touchpad and keyboard are not working then there is an issue with the USB ports, since they are both in internal versions of those. You normally have to install the IRST drivers during a vanilla Windows install before the drive will show up, or disable the VMD controller from in the BIOS (enable hidden menu in Main with CTRL-S). Why are you trying to do the Windows install?

I spoke to Acer customer services and they told me that the mouse not working whilst using the windows installation media is by design. It will always happen.

The drivers for the device cannot be installed along with Windows but have to be installed separately afterwards.

Its to do with the hardware and the drivers Acer has decided to use in their devices.
its a little late to send the machines back but at least I know now to never buy Acer again.

I don't have one here to test with, but that doesn't make sense to me…
