Integrated Webcam Not Recognized On Nitro 5 AN515-55

Typically, I use an external webcam with my laptop, but today, I tried to use the integrated one since I didn't have access to that webcam. Only to find that the integrated camera is not visible by any application (not even the native camera app). My Windows settings (Windows 11 dev channel) are set to allow camera access, and I see several virtual cameras as fully accessible but not the integrated one.

In the device manager, the camera does not appear under any category, even when set to show hidden devices. I checked Acer for drivers that may need to be installed and found several for various device components but not for the camera. In addition, the BIOS/UEFI do not seem to have any settings for the camera, and I don't see any hardware switches that would disable it (though I do have a small plastic device to cover it under normal circumstances).

I ran an SFC and DISM scan. Both found corrupted files that were repaired, but neither affected the problem I'm experiencing.

I honestly have no idea for how long this has been an issue, as I almost never use the integrated camera. It could be months, or it could be just today. I do know it did appear at one point, and I purchased my device 3-5 years ago.

Webcams are controlled by Windows, there are no drivers available. This model is from January 2021 that came with Windows10 installed, when you upgraded to W11 the webcam may not have been detected, and also updates did not detect a webcam. There are no camera settings in BIOS either. There is also a possibility that the camera is broken and can be replaced by Acer Services in your country (not an expensive item). I can recommend a USB external webcam, better picture quality and fully adjustable, available from $30 onwards.

The computer actually did come with Windows 11, I remember that. Maybe I got the wrong model number, but this information was obtained from the System Information app, so I don't know how. I do also remember using the camera with Windows 11 anyway, though this might be related to the fact that I'm on the OS dev channel.

I have been using a USB webcam just fine, so I think most likely a hardware issue. Thank you.
