For some reason, my HDMI port does not work when I plug both a monitor and then a tablet into the port. It shows up on a different computer, but not mine, so this means my HDMI port has something wrong.

What is your laptops model number, as that would help to give you more precise advice. But its best that you take your laptop to a technician so they can diagnose the exact problem and if its the HDMI port or its pins might be lose and disconnected from the mainboard and they will fix or change the port with a new one, or it could be something else. Be aware that all these are microscopic parts that you can't fix. Good luck.

Below is a HDMI port from a Nitro AN515-56 gaming laptop on the right side, get a plastic prying stick and see if the HDMI is not lose or open your laptop up and see if the HDMI port pins haven't disconnected from the mobo, as shown with the red arrows, as doing this is a good starting point.
