my daughter just got a brand-new Acer nitro V today and it has the i7 chip and the GeForce RTX 4050 with 16 GB ram. I downloaded the Nvidia GeForce experience to run Genshin through it. I made sure I was on the latest Nvidia drivers and updated the Intel drivers as well. I would think the laptop would be able to handle 60 FPS but anything over medium settings the game immediately crashes, I get a black screen on the laptop, and I have to power cycle the laptop. I’m just curious if anyone has had any similar issues. This is pretty much the only heavy duty she plays, and I know that Genshin impact is not optimized very well.

Hi, did you directly install those GPU drivers from 3rd-party vendors or from Acer Support, I don't recommend using intel's DSA bloatware but strictly rely on Acer Support and Windows Optional Updates. Download DDU freeware and uninstall the GPU drivers in Safe Mode, then just reboot and let Windows11 install compatible GPU drivers.

    Welcome @Treebeard68,

Check that the UEFI firmware of your Nitro V is updated to the latest available version:

Genshin Impact stuttering and low FPS can solved turning off Control Flow Guard (CFG) to the file "genshinimpact.exe":

Thank you for the responses. I will try the DDU thing tomorrow and then also go to Acer’s website. I really don’t think there’s anything wrong with the laptop. It’s probably just a driver conflict.

The only Intel graphics driver that should be installed on the whatever new model Nitro V you have (as it would be more helpful if you told us the exact model number like ANV15-xx etc.) is the driver in the laptops Acer support page and to whatever windows update will update the Intel graphics to their appropriate update driver, DO NOT update the Intel graphics to whatever is Intel's latest driver as their new drivers are not compatible with the Nitro V laptop and it will cause flickering of the screen and graphics problems.

Make also sure that you have installed the latest Win-11 version 24H2 and updated this version to the last OS build: 26100.2314, as this new version will also install the latest drivers compatible with your Nitro V laptop. also update the bios and all gpu firmware available for this new laptop, as doing all this will ensure that the laptop performs at its best for gaming and all general tasks. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

I apologize for not putting model number in. It’s ANV15-51-73B9. Hopefully today I can try the other things suggested. I’m also not sure if I should be using the GeForce experience to set all the graphics properties for the game or if I should be going into the game and making those changes.

The GeForce Experience is a specific software that NVidia has for your gpu and for over 1500 of the major games. I suggest that you play your games through this software's settings first and if the game doesn't play satisfactorily then go to the specific settings of the game, as there are many settings for these games. Also, update the bios to last version 1.18 as this bios has allot M.2 SSD drive fixes that will improve M.2 functionality for this laptop and update to the last Win-11 version 24H2 also as this version has some updates that will improve your laptops speed and gaming. Good luck.

I made all of these changes and even reset the laptop. My daughter purchased Detroit becomes human, tried playing it through the GeForce experience and after one minute, I got black screen…..Same results with Genshin. Thinking I may have to either call Acer or send it back for a replacement.
