Hi all!

I've found the official documentation I've managed to find about "Modes" and "Fan Control" settings unhelpful. Does anyone have links to something official that describes in detail what the different "Mode" options do? There are very concise blurbs describing each mode that appear when you switch between them, but they lack specifics.

Also I don't understand exactly what the "Auto" and "Custom" Fan Control settings mean and do.

"Auto" is handing all control over to some (undocumented?) fan speed policy — does anyone have a link to a document where this the fan speed curves are officially documented?

"Custom" appears to allow me to toggle "Auto" off for the GPU and CPU fans individually. But what does it mean for the fan speed to be non-Auto? I've noticed that even when set to non-Auto, the CPU and GPU fan speeds will each continue to vary on their own. I assume they do so as a function of temp… so what does setting these to non-Auto accomplish exactly? Relatedly, non-Auto enables the world's tiniest slider bars that, again I assume, give me some amount of manual control over fan speeds, but I can't find any official documentation of what's going on there. Sliding those slider bar settings all the way to the minimum would, I would have assumed, kept fan speeds low, but in a very non-demanding game the "minimum non-Auto" fan speeds kick up to ~3k RPM. That generates a ton of noise that I wish I could have better manual control over.

Thanks for any links to resources and advice for actual control over fan curves, to mitigate this problem of loud fans.
