Problem creating recovery drive

I'm trying to create a recovery flash drive for my new Aspire laptop. I bought a new 16g USB drive and am running into a problem where the recovery drive never completes loading. The green bar gets almost to the end and there it sits. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have the same problem now with an Aspire E1 571. The recovery partition size is shown as 15.76GB. Seems a 16GB USB has only around 14.5GB space available after the overheads. So I thought the USB was possibly too small but I was not ready or sure enough to buy a 32GB USB though.  Have you had any success?

    UPDATE

The fix mentioned in Document ID:29884 has fixed the problem on an Aspire E1 571.  However, subsequently, I noticed that this patch is not listed for this model in its support page (yet?). Should I worry about this?  For information the USB properties now show 9.81GB as used space. I found the patch via this link:-

I suggeste you to disable the power options to never while creating the recovery media and this would help you complete the recovery media creation sucessfully.

    Dear Saranji,

Please see my last post.  The patch provided has already resolved my issue. Disabling the power options did not help in my case.  I found the patch via this link:-

Please note that it has been informed by Acer that Microsoft will release an official hotfix in May 2013. If your model does not have the patch available for download, please run your Microsoft Windows Updates in May 2013 for the hotfix.
